Back Shu Points
Curious about acupuncture needles inserted while lying face-down on the treatment table? It’s possible you’re experiencing the use of Back Shu points. These points, also known as Back Transporting points, are located along the para-spinal muscles on both sides of the spine and belong to the Urinary Bladder channel. Although they’re associated with the bladder channel, they have a broader impact on the body’s internal organs.
In fact, each Back Shu point connects directly to a specific organ, such as the liver, lung, and intestine. There are a total of 12 organs corresponding to the Urinary Bladder channel. These points are crucial for various reasons, including:
- Direct organ connection: Unlike other acupuncture points that affect the flow of Qi through the channel, each Back Shu point connects directly to its corresponding organ.
- Treatment of senses: Back Shu points can treat organs that correspond to our senses, like the lung for smell, liver for vision, and kidney for hearing.
- Toning effect: These points have a tonifying effect, which helps strengthen and balance the organs and their associated functions.
- Effective for chronic conditions: Back Shu points are highly effective in treating chronic conditions.
At our acupuncture clinic, we use Back Shu points to promote overall health and wellbeing. By targeting specific organs and their functions, these points can help alleviate a variety of health issues. So, next time you lie face-down on the treatment table, you’ll know exactly what’s happening back there!
